What to Look For

CCS1 cables are designed for the North American EV charging market. The connector combines a Type 1 (J1772) AC charging interface with two additional DC pins for high-power fast charging.

Key Technical Requirements:

  • Conductor sizing must match rated current (10 AWG for 32A, 6 AWG for 50A+)
  • TPE or TPU jacket material (NOT PVC - fails in cold weather)
  • Embedded temperature monitoring (Type K thermocouple)
